I'm so excited about these zippered pouches! They began when I searched high and low for a new make-up bag, but was disappointed by the selection {and high prices!} in most stores. I knew I could make something better, and whaddya know, I did!
I'm by NO means an experienced seamstress, and my directions might be a bit... strange? Because I'm no sewing tutorial pro either. That said, PLEASE post questions or ask for help if you need. I'll happily include whatever details I can to help you along.
This is a basic tutorial. For some variations and ideas, stick around. I'll put up another post soon that might spark your creativity.
I have never really sewed much before except for a few buttons when they've fallen off but this doesn't look too hard. I'm keen to try it. I'll pick up some material this week.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great beginning project, Linda! Simple, straight lines. Just be sure to follow along while you're matching up the sides of the fabric. It's easy to get turned around :)
ReplyDeleteIf you come across ANY questions, or things that I can clarify, I'd love a note letting me know. First, so that I can help you, and second, so that I can prevent others from being confused!
Happy Sewing!
Oh my GOODNESS! How many times does a girl have to rip out seams from messing up? Let's see...that'd be twice getting the second side of the zipper done (first side I just had to sew twice cause I didn't get it close enough). Then when doing the bottom corners to make it stand I didn't follow the directions and rotate the corners. Then one didn't include all 4 layers so I had to sew it twice. Alas...it is finished! And cute. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's great. I think it's a good gift idea. Thanks for sharing this!
