Two Things

I'm really not one for resolutions. Several years back, it occurred to me that I was simply setting myself up for failure. That's no way to start a fresh, new year! But I do love the feeling that I can start fresh somewhere. A couple of fresh, year-long projects have been on my mind, and I'd love to invite you to participate as well.

Project One: 365
Photos... of course! I've always wanted to participate in a photo-a-day project, but have always felt intimidated by the concept. A photo a day for an entire year is a whole lot of accountability! But I think I'm ready this year. Follow along on my Flickr Set if you'd like. {You'll also see a link near the top of my blog, titled 365:2012}

Project Two: Clutter Busting
I'm a little bit excited about this one. I stumbled on this 2012 Declutter & Organize calendar via Pinterest a couple of weeks back, and knew it would be just the thing to keep me motivated for 2012. Would anyone else like to take the challenge with me? I'd love to form some sort of a group to keep myself motivated!

What projects are you tackling this year?
Are you a resolution-maker? I'd love to hear about your resolutions!

UPDATE: We've set up a Facebook group! Come on over and join the group... here!

  1. I'm right there with ya. Hate making resolutions. I'm lucky to keep them through the first few weeks. I've added your 360:2012 to my RSS feed so I can watch along. :) I'm also digging this clutter busting calendar. Might have to play along on that one! Glad it's only the 2nd so I don't have to play catch up. Printing January presently. Wanna help keep me accountable? There are a few things I'm sure that won't apply, but it's still a neat idea.

  2. Fun!! A clutter-busting buddy! ;) ...I need to think on a way to monitor our progress, or check in, or... something. Maybe just a post here and there? Hmn.

    Also, my plan for days that don't apply is to just come up with another, similar task. For example, there is no "under the bed" in our room, so I scratched that out and will work on cleaning up our closet floor instead.

  3. Haha, I usually hate resolutions as well, but mine this year is getting this tiny little house organized!

  4. I might be interested in the clutter one. What does it entail?

  5. The link is in the post, Jenn, for a year-long calendar. Each day, you have a simple task to complete. For example, tomorrow's instructions are to "declutter the top of your cabinets and dust." Some are even more simple than that! :)

    Once the year is up, we'll have decluttered and organized our entire home without any major undertakings. I like that I can do one simple task each day--even with a toddler around.
